CIEH Supervising Artificial Tanning (Sunbed) Course
To enable learners to understand the Legal responsibilities imposed on businesses
who use or supply tanning devices. It will enable learners to provide advice and control measures to be given to “Users” to ensure their safety against ultra violet radiation and the effects of exposure along with records kept of all relevant documentation.
Regulations that came into force on 31st October 2011 place certain legal responsibilities on every person operating a sunbed business to ensure that:-
1. There is a Supervisor present whenever the sunbeds are being used or w whenever someone is seeking to use one (i.e. to book a session either immediately or for a future date).
2. This will require more than one person to be trained, as there MUST be a Competent Person present at ALL times in practice.
3. It is the responsibility of the person operating the business to ensure that the supervisor is competent.
4. Competent means competent to give the health advice and guidance prescribed in these Regulations.
This one day CIEH approved course will enable course members to understand the requirements of the Regulations and their associated responsibilities.
