The 2 day H.S.E. approved re-qualification course is designed to update students
existing knowledge.  This will enable the students to meet the new changes and discuss any issues they have encountered.

• Responsibilities of the First Aider
• Management of the incident and casualty
• Levels of Response
• Life Threatening Priorities
• Unconscious casualty and the recovery position
• Respiratory arrest, asphyxia and cardiac arrest
• Problem Solving:  Choking & CPR
• Airway Disorders: Hypoxia, Asthma, Hyperventilation
• Shock recognition and treatment
• Angina & Heart Attack
• Recognise and treat internal & external bleeding / Embedded objects / Chest Wounds / Amputation / Crush Injuries
• Recognition and treatment for burns, scalds, poisons, gas or fumes
• Eye injuries
• Workplace Specific Injuries
• Treating minor injuries and recognising illness
